Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Beuhler

Hanging with Margaret (Steven's niece) after the ceremony, while Elaine posed for pictures with the Bridal party.

By the way, during the ceremony, the pastor said "Now Allan, repeat after me..." and our Allan started to repeat Big Allan's vows.

Waiting til they need her for more photos.

They warmed up the dance floor. My kids are NOT wallflowers!

3rd Snow Storm this Winter

Elaine's school was canceled today due to the snow. Around 3 this afternoon, we got a call telling Jim that school is canceled for tomorrow, as well. Elaine played outside with Jimmy for 2 hours!! He had a fire going in the fire pit, to warm our hands.

-----------------------------------------
Last week we heard that my friend and employer Rick has a cancerous mass where his Kidney should be. He's understandably upset. In the next 2 weeks or so, his kidney will be removed. Maybe the spleen too. The surgery can't be done endoscopicly, so he'll have a larger wound, which typically takes longer to heal.
He's had a pain in his leg since August or September, when he injured it and it never healed back to normal. Monday, Rick had a fullbody scan to look for more cancer and the technician spotted cancer in the injured leg! They ran additional scans of just his leg, to get a clear picture of what's going on. But Rick's doctor wasn't there to talk to him about any of it.
Wednesday Rick returned to the hospital for the results of the scans. The doctor told Rick & Regina that Rick's leg cancer is inside the bone, and it's stage 4. The doctor called the leg cancer "incurable". Understandably everyone's upset. We know Rick will be away from the store for a good amount of time, so we're all scrambling to help him place orders and get projects rolling, so we'll be in better shape while he's away for his surgery.
The doctor is going to get the leg biopsied, so they know which medicine to put Rick on. The prediction is that the worse case scenario is 6 months. Rick's best case scenario is 2 or more years, depending on how well his body takes to the medicine. The doctor said Rick will be on the medicine for the rest of his life.

We're all praying for miraculous healing. We're praying for Rick and Regina to have peace of mind and fight off all the anxiety and fear. We're praying for both of them, that their practical needs are met. And of coarse we're praying that the business Rick has run for 31 years will be okay while he's trying to feel better.
