Quick update

Elaine and I have a case of frizzy hair. It's been super humid.

Elaine had her first loose tooth. It took a week to fall out after she noticed the wiggle. The tooth fairy left her 5 quarters.
I was off from work on Memorial day, so we went to Garland to visit with Margo and then the Beuhler's. Margo is having surgery on the 17th, so pray for her hip replacement. Fumie has some extra ailments right now, so keep her in your prayers. Margo gave Elaine a dollar to add to her toothfairy money. Lainey picked out a make-your-own jewelry set from the dollar store and some tinkerbell hair bows.

The store had me paint up a sign for the new in-mall location. The mall bosses approved (and liked!) the sign I painted and let Rick stick it in the window of the new location. This was my design:Later, after the new store opens, they are gonna cut off the part of the sign that says "Coming soon" and keep the rest for whenever they are hiring more people again (like near Halloween).

My bosses were out of town on Wednesday, so I ran the store and opened up Thursday morning. They let me off of work a few hours early so I could run errands at UNT. I jumped through all the hoops (paperwork!) to apply for graduation. So the wheels are in motion.
I feel really awkward because my aunt and grandmother have already sent me graduation cards. It is super sweet that they are thinking of me and proud of me. I just hope that they understand the ceremony wont be until August. I need to steal some time and write each of them a letter.

My boss lady is taking me out to see the 'Sex in the City' movie tomorrow after work. We are gonna dress like some of the characters, if it's a slow day at work and we have time to put on costumes. If we dress up, I'll take pictures.

My mom's side of the family had 3 deaths in the last week. The family is in our prayers. Please keep them in yours.

Last grade is in

I got an A for my theatrical senior seminar class. Since my only other UNT class this semester was graded as pass/no pass (i.e. It didn't have effect on my GPA), that means at UNT for this semester I have a 4.0 average. I already have requested my new transcripts from NCTC and Midland College to be mailed to UNT's registrar, to get the wheels in motion for my graduation.

I received back our family's Easter photo from church.

I'm chaperoning a lock-in at our church on Friday after work. I felt like I was supposed to volunteer. I'm glad I did. I discovered that only 3 confirmed adults were gonna watch a ton of teens. Every set of eyes helps when it's a sleep over situation with teens. They are gonna play games, do Karaoke, use the church vans to go see 'Prince Caspian', eat pizza at the church, and otherwise ignore the urge to sleep.

Did I tell yall about my "final exam" for senior seminar? Dr.Wilson decided that as professionals in the entertainment industry, we should see what is going on in our profession (i.e. Use the final as an excuse to have a field trip to a movie theatre last Thursday). Attendance was mandatory.
As a favor to Rick and Regina, I worked that morning (usually my day off) since they had an errand to run. Then I sold back one of my textbooks to the bookstore on campus. And then we fetched one of my classmates to give him a ride to the movie theatre. My class saw 'Iron Man'.

It was much better than I expected. *BUT* there was a preview at the end of the movie for the sequel to Iron Man. The sequel doesn't look as good as this one. By the way, the movie was good, but REALLY too adult for kids to see. There was torture scenes, people squished by robots, and surgery scenes.

Micah's supposed to be back in Texas in a couple weeks. :)

One of my high school best friends, Stephen Robertson, is getting married in less than two weeks. My family is invited to the wedding. I'm waiting to hear if I can miss work. The wedding is at 8am in Lubbock. So I'd have to miss all of Friday at work to go. The new girl at my job hasn't been trained on the register at all, she doesn't do laundry, prepare rentals, or know much about how rentals work at the store... so she can't really fill in for me when I take a day off. I'm gonna see what my bosses say about going to the wedding. "Robertson" (what I call the groom since he was in ROTC and now the Army) was definitely in the top 5 of my high school closest friends. It'll be a military wedding since the Bride is also in the Army.

Grades Grades Grades

I got a 99% on my last homework assignment for Statistics, so I didn't have to take the final exam. I have a 81% average for the semester. Which is amazing me, with it being a math class and all.

I got a 96.5% on my Spanish Final Exam yesterday. Which gives me an 81.7% average for the semester.

My online computer skills class was graded "Pass/no pass" and I passed the class. I don't know my grade yet for Theatrical Senior Seminar.

I have to wait until this semester is over (this week is over) to pick up my application for graduating in August from the registrar's office.
