Time with Inlaws this last week

Jimmy's mom came to town this week. I remembered to take pictures a few times along the way.
These are pictures of when the kids were making Get Well Soon cards for their Uncle Dave. David had surgery on a torn ligament in his right foot last Friday. He tore it stepping off of a curb. It was replaced with a swine ligament. The running joke is that Dave isn't Kosher any more.

I helped Allan with the front of his card, since he can't quite spell Get Well, yet. But he was very proud of his card. He insisted his Ema and I both take pictures of the card with our cameras. His card had a Sun, Moon and (wheel-less) Car.

Allan fell asleep on the way to deliver the get well card to David.
Dave, all doped up, liked the cards.

The kids right after church on Sunday:

Sunday late afternoon, Elaine took my picture with Allan:
Family friend, Chris H., with the family

Monday the kids had pictures taken. They seem to have Bambi II playing in the waiting area every time we go to this JC Penney's. :)

Allan took my picture

Jim suggested that he hang with Dave on Wednesday. But then Tuesday night Jim was running a fever, so I went to hang out with Dave and Cleo, since Wednesday was my day off from the store. We watched the history of Coney Island hotdogs on the History channel and Tropic Thunder.

awwwww... looks like Allan on that car ride. :)

New Honey and other excitement

We had a long/adventurous day today. We heard that Steven and Allan were robbing the honey from their beehives today, so we made to Garland around Noon to help them out. To our surprise, Allan had two honeys to show us.

He proudly announced, "This is my Bee's honey, and this is my 'Honey'." Allan is very happily engaged to a nice woman named Linda. Having just spent the afternoon with her, she has our stamp of approval... not that she needs it.

Allan asked me to take their picture, so he can show one to his mother when he visits her. Allan hasn't seen his mother, sister or many friends, who live in Florida, for 9 years now! With Steven basically all healed from his back surgery, the men are making a trip down to see their relatives.

This machine spins the honeycombs around pulling out the honey, which drips out the bottom of the machine. When it's not loaded evenly, it wobbles a LOT, so we all held it still.

Honey from the last batch was sitting around on the counter. This is how they package it for friends.

When we left Steven's house, we hung out for a little over an hour at Jim's grandma's house. We watched a little TV with her and heard about a fall she had in her backyard two weeks ago. She tripped and banged herself up pretty good. She thought at the time she may have a broken nose, but it turned out not so. She said that she was grateful for the metal rails David welded around her back porch, because they helped her to get herself back inside.

On the way home, Jim said he'd let me look in Michaels, because I wanted to check the price on something. Then over the store's loud-speaker we heard there was a Tornado warning or watch (not sure which) and that everyone had to gather at the center of the store. The lights went out, and we were all lead to the employee break room because it has no windows. There were about 25 people waiting around with my family for a half hour trying to hear the weather report on a Television over the sound of the impatient kids (not just mine). The electricity flickered on and off. When the storm passed we all went about our way.

Once I got home, my cellphone rang. Turns out, the store I work at has been flooded BADLY. Water is ankle-deep in the back of the store, were we store all our backstock, costume accessories, new merchandise, off-season costumes (Easter Bunnies/Santas) and anything else we need to stash. Also, water got on the owner's computers and all his paperwork! It was 9pm. I asked if I needed to come in and help them save stuff. Regina said all I can do is pray and that maintenance men were there working with Rick using wet vacs. Everyone needs to pray that insurance covers the losses and the wooden floor is not ruined.
