Christmas Eve 2009

It started snowing around noon on Christmas Eve and became a winter storm. I was at work. My co-worker's iphone showed a storm sitting still over Denton, swirling all day.

The mall closed around 6pm (we were told we could close up an extra 15 minutes early due to the storm). Jim hated driving home on all the ice! Christmas Eve service was canceled at our church (and Rick & Regina's, our Plan B). And it didn't seem wise to drive out to Carrolton on icy roads to see the Kochs and Dave, so we stayed home that night. I watched 'White Christmas' and made some easy cookies for Santa. The kids watched Santa on NORAD. Once he hit North America, they rushed off to bed.

in case yall don't know...my hubby is a little odd.

Elaine got dressed up for the church service, which was cancelled.

She made herself a little weather chart.

Tracking Santa with NORAD.

Testing Santa's cookies.

Christmas Morning, approx 8am.

Santa left footprints on our porch, in the snow!

Allan finished the rest of Santa's cookie.

Her very own paper trimmer (not Mommy's). :)

Excited about his "Iceman" pajamas from Gramps & Nana

Santa brought Allan 'Bumblebee'.

Santa brought Elaine a Barbie doll.

someone must've been dreaming of a WHITE CHRISTMAS

Investigating Santa's footprints in the snow, leading up to our porch. Elaine said, "They can't be from Daddy, because Daddy wouldn't climb through a window."

Quick! While she's not looking!!

This was the first snowy Christmas in Texas since 1929, 80 years ago!

Christmas Afternoon/Night 2009

The gang all met up at Margo's house Christmas afternoon:

This photo turned out Great! (Katy was pretending) :)

Hugging her new books.

CHRISTMAS NIGHT at Steven's house:

Steven took us to dinner at IHOP. In the parking lot, Allan insisted, "I want MY Steven's hand!"

Elaine received a science kit that creates bouncy balls. Just add water! It's pretty cool. It made the big guys into kids.
