This week: No more 70's Hair for Alpal

Celebrating Allan's Birthday

Silly String fight

Prepping for Allan's birthday

Allan wanted an 'Avengers' themed birthday this year.
Balloons from work, Star dangly things, Twisted red/blue streamers & some square artwork I made.
I hung part of the table cloth on the wall, for the kids to take photos in front of. :)

I printed the heroes off the internet onto cardstock, then laminated the characters with packing tape,so the icing wouldn't make them look wet.
I printed images of the different Avengers from the internet, glittered them and mounted them to paper for decor.

.
After the party, I can use the heroes in Allan's babybook
We didn't celebrate Allan's birthday on his real birthday, since it landed on a Thursday. But on his real birthday, I brought Allan home a sprinkled star donut for dessert.

Work stuff

The store I manage flooded the week after Christmas. It sucked. There was so much to clean up. The store owner was out of town during the flood, so I had to deal with the immediate clean up, so we could re-open the store.
The store is gonna move from it's current location. The mall has new owners and is remodeling, including bringing in big-name stores to attract people. A restaurant is gonna move into our current location. We've been offered a few much smaller locations in the mall. Rick is considering all his options.

In other news: I got a second job. It's a  job I can do from home, sewing hats similar to surgeon's caps in my spare time. It's well within my skill set and my new boss is very nice. They provided all the fabric, elastic, thread, 2 rotary cutters, a self-healing mat and everything else they thought I may need to create the product. There's no stressful deadlines. Just sew hats, turn them in, get paid. :)

Brank Christmas with Margaret

Hung out with some Branks (and Hopkins, Woods, etc).
My mom took the pictures, so everyone else could be in the photo together. Her trying to figure out each person's camera had us laughing! :)

Elaine's birthday

Elaine wore this birthday tiara to school on Friday. The last day of the school semester was the day before her 9th birthday, so they mostly watched Polar Express and played games.  My friends Codi & Jenna surprised Elaine at school, having lunch with her. They brought her a hamburger and sat at her lunch table to eat together.  Not a bad school day. :)

On her real birthday, Saturday, we took Elaine to learn rock climbing in Carrolton, TX. The rock climbing place was constructed inside a grain silo.

We let Elaine open one present before dinner/cake, so she could call her grandparents and thank them for it at a reasonable hour (different time zone).  She was very excited!

Lanterns on the table &  lantern cupcakes

Micah does NOT like silly string in his dreadlocks.  But he does like to cover the kids in it.

Tangled Barbie
We got her a Mp3 player and pre-loaded it with about 40 songs she likes. The mp3 player also came with a coupon for 35 free song downloads, so she gets to pick some out for herself.
Elaine was silent pretty much for the next two hours while she played her MP3 player. :))
