Easter Sunday

Pics from my Birthday on Saturday

Night of my Birthday

My family, my mom, Dave and Katy all met at the Chinese Buffet for Dinner, then exchanged Easter baskets and birthday presents at our house.

Friday night at work

Rick and Regina gave me a necklace with a cross and an oyster with a pink pearl inside. The pearl fit inside the cross. It was really cool. Regina also made me a balloon bundle.

Update

Elaine is getting over being sick again. She missed school Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday was a field trip too! She's super disappointed. She barely ate dinner Sunday night, then she threw up. So I put her to bed early. I realized after a while that she had soiled herself in her sleep, so i woke her for a shower. She slept in a diaper. The next morning she still could not control her bladder. She had another shower before I went to work. She threw up again that night and this morning. She had a mild fever off and on. Jim said she seemed a little better today after I went to work, but said she had little appetite. I hope she's ready for school tomorrow.

My bosses are back from their trip *YAY* They brought presents for my whole family; a shirt for Jimmy, Elaine and Allan, necklace for Elaine and 3 faux pearl necklaces for me. They are beautiful! I'm so glad to have Rick and Regina back in town. The week was going smoothly at work. Lots of projects were making progress. But Sunday was horrible. Customers yelled at me, called me a B*tch (one time in front of my kids), my coworker was yelled at too and there was a drunk lady in the store who made us stay open late. Tomorrow I have my first day off in a while ...and guess what?!? This coming weekend, I don't work at all! That hasn't happened since I went to Florida for Christmas over a year ago. I asked off work for my birthday Saturday and the next day the mall is closed for Easter.

Tonight I got a call from my mom while I was at work. She asked if she could visit this weekend. It's actually great timing, because normally I would have to work during most of her visit. I checked with Jimmy, then called Berta back and said that it's fine by us.
She'll arrive Friday morning right after Jim takes Elaine to school. I have to work from 1-9 on Friday, but Berta can hang with Allan and Jimmy, and then Elaine at 3pm. She'll be with us until around 6 on Sunday.

p/s My injured finger seems to be doing better. The fingernail still looks gross, but the blue color is gone from the rest of the finger. Only the fingernail is sensitive now.

Pics from Going to RHS almost two weeks ago

Jimmy took me to see The Rocky Horror Show on Opening Night at UNT. He got Robert to babysit. After the play he took me to On The Border for Dessert. He opened doors for me all night and was super quiet about the parts of the play I'm sure he disapproved. :)

Owie Owie Owie

My fingertip got slammed in the Van's sliding door this morning. I cried the entire way to work. The skin-side split open a little, like ripped from the pressure. And the nail-side is blue and purple. I think I may loose the fingernail. It's still throbbing from something that happened at 9 this morning. I've taken Tylenol and a anti-inflammatory.

I didn't get my normal day off today. I worked until 3pm. My bosses are on their trip. I'm working 46 hours this week. That has me working every day this week. The coworkers and I are getting lots of progress made on our projects. :)

It hurts to type. I have a dysfunctional deleting-finger. *whine*

I need to put pictures on here from my date with Jim the other night. We went to Rocky Horror. I'll do that later.

My glasses were ready early.

Allan had a fever Saturday night and Sunday morning, but was fine in time to be with the babysitter that night. Then 7am Monday morning Elaine was dripping with sweat and burning up. So she missed school yesterday. At work, I had a fever too, but some Tylenol and Vitamin C helped my fever break. Elaine's fever broke and then came back, so she was still feverish this morning. She's missing school again. I'm super sad about it, because 1) I hate when the kids are sick and I have to work instead of nurse them, and 2) We've been seeing Pamela and her kids every Wednesday and I wont let my sick kids get Pam's kids sick.

In other news: Rick hired two new girls at the store. *Happy dance* They are both 17. One of them has worked retail before, but the other has never worked anywhere before. They both were dancers. This might work out. One of my coworkers is moving away and we needed at least one more employee asap.

Repairs and other news

Our landlord came out twice this week and worked on some of the repairs our neighborhood is requiring. He's put extra rungs around our back deck, replaced spindles on the front porch and put an under-roof on the front porch. He still has to either paint or stain the front porch before the end of the month.

Replaced Spindles.

The back porch, before.

This is how the back porch looks now.

This is how our porch's roof has looked for years.
This shows the new wooden under-roof on the porch.

While I was taking pictures of the repairs, a squirrel jumped into the shot. :)

I saw the optometrist on the 20th. I can pick up my glasses next Friday. The doc said I could use some "sharpening". But my prescription is not as strong as it use to be.

Tonight is the Church's Appreciation night for the Children's Church Volunteers. Everyone is meeting up for a pizza buffet and free movie at Studio Movie and Grill in Lewisville. We are all seeing 'Duplicity'. The kids will be with babysitters, teen daughters of the lady who leads our bible study.

Random Recent pics.

Elaine finished Charlotte's Web. She says that it was kind of fiction because animals don't really talk. But it was kind of fact too, "because Spiders DO lay eggs."

Jim took the kids to Lunar Golf some time last week with some Free passes Rick gave them. Jim has been answering some computer questions for Rick. The two guys seem to be getting along.
