Not just some random humorous photo found off of the internet.... That 'Robot' is one of my old roommates, Justin. I'm surprised to see him out of his bat cave of a room, let alone out in daylight. Posted by Picasa

I've been Window Shopping online.

doesn't this set scream "ELAINE"? The colors are so her. It's brand new from Basicgrey. They have a cute "Oh baby boy" set too, but this is "oh baby girl" Posted by Picasa

This is the top of my 'Letter to Santa' or belated Mothers day wish list. I think these are just precious. The eeyores are great and the roses are blue like my wedding bouquet (it was blue and lavender). And I don't have a toothbrush holder at present, so this got my attention. The set is sold together. Posted by Picasa

Jim's Chicken Sunday Hat. He didn't win the contest this year (he won the last two years), but he says that's okay because the prize was a McDonald's gift card and we are a What-a-Burger family. Posted by Picasa

Jimmy's new Job!

Every couple of weeks we find a random newspaper in our driveway that we haven't ordered. When I find it, I go ahead, bring it in a check for coupons and the comic strips. This this on Wednesday when the paper arrived, I browsed the Classifieds because I've been keeping an eye out for a used dresser for the kids. I saw a handful of ads for jobs cooking. I circled them and told Jim and a friend about the jobs.

Jim has been keeping an eye out for another job. He has reached the top of the payscale at his current job ($9) and we need him to earn more than that. Also, driving back and forth to Ponder,TX 6 days a week is really adding up on our Gasoline costs.

Yesterday Jim had me cut his hair and trim up his beard. He put on his chef's jacket and applied at two places. This morning he heard back from the place that he prefered of the two. They wanted to interview him this afternoon. It's a Senior Citizen community between my old apartment (when I was single) and the hospital where our kids were born; right near UNT campus. They were looking for a Prep Cook. That means the cook that chops all the veggies and prepares all the ingrediants to be cooked by someone else. Jim had me iron his chef jacket for today's interview. HE LOOKED SHARP!

The interviewer asked him very little questions and went right into showing him around the kitchen. It's a much larger/nicer kitchen than where he currently works. Jimmy was pleased with that. They hired Jimmy this afternoon. His starting pay is more than he earns now at Ranchmans (and he had to get a couple raises to earn the $9 in Ponder). He will work from lunchtime until 8pm at the senior community, called The Vintage. Jim is starting off working part-time, but that will only last like 2 weeks. Then he'll be full time at the Vintage.

Jim went to work tonight at Ranchman's. He is gonna ask for Mon-Thursday off from Ranchmans, but he doesn't want to leave them without their fastest cook for this weekend's rush or next weekend. He says he wants to help Ranchman's until they can replace them. They hired a young girl chef a couple weeks back who is catching on quickly, and she wants more hours. So this might work out well for everyone. Jimmy doesn't want to burn his bridges at Ranchman's because he has befriended the head chef, Gary.

After talking to Jimmy, I learned today that ALL the classes he needs to graduate are offered online by Devry. And he's gonna go that route, as to not delay his graduation in October. Since he's working from lunchtime until 8pm from now on, I'll have to take early morning classes when my school starts back up in late August.. *yuck* It's for the best for our family. With Jimmy getting home around 8pm instead of Midnight or later, it will be easier for us to get a good night's rest... so early classes will be manageable (*or so I pray*). Well, I think that's everything.. Be praying for this transition to go smoothly.

On Monday Jimmy repaired a computer at Granny's house (Pamela's grandmother). The kids and I spent the day chit chatting with Granny while Jimmy worked. Elaine found some marachas and carried them around most of the day. Posted by Picasa

Jim asked Elaine if she could paint him some circles. She ran to the kitchen saying "I paint Daddy!" Within two minutes, sure enough, she had painted Daddy all on her own. I love the eyebrows,  Posted by Picasa

The Results Are In...

Spring 2006 Grades
GEOL 1610 Physical Geology grade: B
PHYS 1331 Intro to Physics grade: B (*my nemesis*)
PHYS 1311 Physics Lab grade: F
THEA 2110 Stage Craft (Drafting for Theatre) grade: A
THEA 4910 Special Problems: Assistant Set Design "Scapino" grade: A

In the Fall I want to re-take the physics lab, because I'll need to take it again and I have a gap in my schedule for that semester. It's one of those classes where there isn't a set time to meet each week and it can last anywhere between 15 minutes and 2 and 1/2 hours. I had trouble getting labs done in the short time I had alloted for the lab, so my work was rushed. :(
In the Fall I plan to take Spanish 1, also. I looked into taking it at NCTC over the summer. They offer the class TWO nights a week, not one night per week, like I had been told. Jimmy only has one night off from work, so I can't go two nights to class (no ride, no sitter). Also, with gas prices getting crazy, it's not the time for us to have Jim driving back and forth to another campus for me to get to a night class. So, I'll start Spanish in the Fall at UNT. It'll be 4 days a week (not nights). And I'm not assigned to work on a play in the Fall, so it's a good time to begin a new language....I should have time to actually study!
The third class I want to take is a Special Problems class that the theatre is offering to teach us how to use AUTOCAD to draft our set designs. They aren't offering this class again for another 4 years, so I'm gonna take it while it's offered. Plus, I usually earn A's in theatre classes, so it's good to have something 'safe' in my scedule.
I might have to re-take Art Appreciation too. I took the version of the class for non-majors...because I'm not an Art Major. But rumor tells me that since I'm a Minor, I should have taken the advanced level class. I need to email the Art Dept. advisor and find out what's what.

In other news: the other night my wrist hurt for about an hour. Then the next night it hurt for like 3 hours. Today it's hurt ALL DAY LONG. I think the cause is the angle my wrist is at when I type. -Did I mention it's my left hand? My right hand spends a good amount of time on the computer's mouse, so it doesn't stay locked in one position for too long. I'm gonna make a little cusion to raise my wrist while I type.

Today ELAINE has thrown up like 5 times. She learned to hug the toilet, figuratively. She hasn't eatten ANYTHING yet today. She's refusing. She had a low fever this morning, but Baby Tylenol fixed it. A cool bath made her feel good too. It's been all day. I pray that it doesn't continue in to the night.

update

Last night baby Allan through up (projectile-style) 5 times in 90 minutes. Switching his bottle from Milk to water seemed to make it stop. He hasn't eatten a lot today, but otherwise seemed fine. All smiles and normal energy. Then tonight, he crawled up in my lap in the recliner and he projectile vomited on me, the chair and the carpet (he's got about a 2 foot spray) . I wonder if he's just got a bug or if he's becoming lactose intollerant. Prayers please.

Tonight I got some work done in Jimmy's babybook/family album. I got 4 pages completed (2 -2pg layouts) about visiting Pittsburg Texas in April of 1988. I'll post pictures of these in my scrapbooking gallery. The link is to the right --->

Today we put a mister on top of our trailor in the area that trees don't shade. On hot days we'll turn on the mister to keep the metal rooftop cooler. It'll keep the inside cooler and save us some electricity. Since we are on well water, running the mister is FREE. We are trying to save our energy where we can.
A teenage girl is being trained to cook at the restraunt. The bosses wanted to see if the girl could close up the grill on her own, so Jimmy got out of closing tonight. He got home 2 hours earlier than normal. He's appreciating the down time.

I talked to my mom yesterday. My brother and Berta are still planning to visit next month. I'm pretty excited about seeing them. I think they'll get a kick out of playing with the babies.

I painted a backpack for Micah this weekend

Micah's boring backpack. The only thing he liked about it was how much stuff it can carry. Posted by Picasa

I went with a theme of "The Doors" The words are song lyrics. The guitar is the same type played by the bass player in the band. The flames are supposed to be like, "Come on baby, light my Fire" and the clouds on the other side are supposed to be like, "Riders in the storm". Micah is pleased with it. He put one of my business cards in his wallet, in case one of his classmates wants a painted backpack (he goes to a rich highschool).  Posted by Picasa
